Hello Marlin Families-

I wanted to send out a recap of the apps you will want/need to navigate this season. I tried to connect with as many people as I could at Blue & Gold but I’m sure I missed many of you! There are also a few reminders below.

Swimtopia

• Used to declare you swimmer for each meet
  • Opens 2 weeks before the meet, closes the Sunday before the meet.
  • You MUST declare yes or no, or you will be hearing from me. 😊
• Used to sign up for your parent participation shifts for each meet
  • Only 1 shift per family. If you sign up for more than 1, you will be removed from all of them.
• You can see the team’s event schedule
• You can find your swimmer’s best times/results history, including why your swimmer got DQ’d.
• Full meet results and live data during meets are available if you purchase Pro, which is $15/year. It’s not necessary to purchase, but it’s nice to have a pretty snapshot of your swimmer’s day if that’s something you’re interested in. You can also see other swimmers’ data if you purchase Pro.

Time Drops Live

This is our NEW meet program we purchased this year with the money raised from Laps 4 Loot last year! It’s really amazing and you’re going to love it! If you need help getting started, come find me at the next meet and I can walk you through it!

• On the day of the meet, search for your meet, enter the code (2197 for home meets), and the meet schedule will populate.
• The current event will show the time clock and as the swimmers finish it shows their times live with the drop/add time difference and place right next to it. Completed races will have a green check mark.
• You can select your Favorite Swimmers and they will appear on the schedule in red.
• You can click the filter button on the bottom left to show only your swimmer’s events.

Meet Mobile

• Some of the teams in our league are not yet using Time Drops Live. When we swim at their pools, you will want Meet Mobile to track events.
• The free version will show the event schedule with seed times.
• If you want to pay for the subscription, you will have access to “real-time” results, swimmer tracking, and full heat sheets. This subscription is $6.50/mo or $20/year.
• This app is a bit slower to update after each race finishes, but it does eventually show the finish times and you can see a snapshot of your swimmer at the end of the day.

None of the subscriptions are necessary, but you will have access to more information if you have them. We will be sure to let you know which app will be used prior to/at the start of each meet so that you’re prepared!
